Russell Ivy, Jr.
2008 MLB Team 2nd Place 11/12 year old division
Russell Stover Ivy, Jr. competed in the Aquafina Pitch, Hit & Run Competition on Father’s Day June 15, 2008 held at Minute Maid Park. He placed second overall in the competition for the 11 & 12 year old age group. Leading up to the competition at Minute Maid Park, Russell competed locally at the Alvin Little League Opening Day Ceremonies and then in the Area Finals held in Deer Park where he placed First overall in each of those competitions.
During the competition at Minute Maid Park, Russell scored a combined total of 798 points compared to the 1st Place winner who scored 892 points to edge out Ivy from advancing to the next level of Competition. The Pitch, Hit & Run Competition sponsored by Aquafina and Major League Baseball consisted of Competitors traveling from as far as El Paso, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana to compete at Minute Maid Park. The advancing competitors will go on to New York City, New York to the National Finals to be held during the Major League Baseball All Star Game held later this year. Jace Campbell
2007 MLB Team Champion 9/10 year old division
After winning the local and sectional competitions, ALLB's Jace Campbell represented Alvin at the Texas Rangers MLB Team Championship competition in June of 2007 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, TX. Though he won the the team competition he was not one of the top 4 scorers of all 30 MLB Team competitions (only the top 4 scorers of each age group advance to the National competition). We congradulate Jace on his accomplishment.
